Il y a du niveau !!!
Mojo Blue - Fight the Rasses 7" (Uprising)
A-side previously unreleased. Same rhythm as Fulk Reid - Golden Daffodils 7" (Uprising).
More deeply rare roots from the mid '70s, this is the deejay version to Fulk (Livingston) Reid's "Golden Daffodils", by Mojo Blue aka Jah Mojo. The full deejay piece was never released and only played on dubplate (until now!), while the dub to the deejay version was paired with the "Golden Daffodils" vocal on the original Wildflower 7", and there mistakenly credited to Brigadier Jerry.
Fulk Reid - Golden Daffodils / Uprising All Stars - Golden Dub 7" (Uprising)
B-side previously unreleased. Same rhythm as Mojo Blue - Fight the Rasses 7" (Uprising).
Deeply rare roots from the mid '70s. Originally released on Federal's Wildflower imprint, "Golden Daffodils" by Fulk (Livingston) Reid came out with a Glen Brown credit on it due to some producer/insider business runnings decades ago. Actually produced by Stereo Fletcher, and like much of his mid '70s material, played on dubplate by select sounds at the time. The original 45 confusingly came with a dub to the not-released (until now!) deejay cut on the b-side, and mistakenly credited to Brigadier Jerry at that. The deejay is actually Mojo Blue aka Jah Mojo. Here we give you the original vocal as released on 45 on the A-side, and the previously unreleased dub to the vocal on the b-side!
Albert Malawi - Children of the Emperor [Dubplate Mix] 7" (Uprising)
Previously unreleased. Alternate/dubplate mix.
Serious thing, previously unreleased dubplate mix of "Children of the Emperor" as played by a select few sound systems back in the '70s. No horns, more prominent organ, overall a more raw drum & bass stripped down feel. This is one of our all time favorite tunes, so nice we had to release it twice!
Brigadier Jerry - Jah Jah Children 7" (Uprising)
Previously unreleased.
Our second batch of releases from Carl 'Stereo' Fletcher's Uprising imprint features some amazing previously unreleased material. This pair of Brigadier Jerry tunes from the mid '70s were only ever played on dubplate by a select few sound systems. A young Briggy lays lyrics over Little Roy's "Christopher Columbus" and Albert Malawi's "Children of the Emperor", each with a great Sylvan Morris dub.
Brigadier Jerry - Pirate Columbus 7" (Uprising)
Previously unreleased.
