Reggae Roots Forum - From 60's to mid 80's

Un riddim classique de chez Studio One, le A Love I Can Feel.

Impossible de ne l'avoir jamais entendu...
Perso, je l'ai tellement entendu, qu'en général, quand je tombe dessus, je le zappe.
Pourtant c'est un riddim plus que solide, encore un peu hésitant peut-être dirais-je... (transition du Rocksteady>Early Reggae>Reggae... ), mais très efficace !
Normal on dira, avec un groupe pionnier dans le domaine qui n'est autre que les Sound Dimension.
Ligne de basse simple et entrainante... , orgue bien présent et petite mélodie cuivrée qui se répète, cette version des Sound Dimension est immortelle ! (pas comme les reprises de ce riddim faites plus tard)

Je vais pas me lancer dans l'histoire du riddim... seulement quelques dates trouvées... Mais beaucoup d'inconnus !

Une petite erreur dans ce très riche post, "Call the doctor for me" d'Early B est en réalité sur le riddim "Mama le me go". Lignes de basse assez proche d'où cette fréquente confusion...

En effet, Call The Doctor For Me d'Early B n'est pas sur le A Love I Can Feel riddim, tout comme le Take You To The Show d'Anthony Johnson et aussi à mon avis le One Combination de Rankin Toyan & Jah Thomas... qui sont sur un autre riddim, qui a pris 3 noms différents selon les années de sorties :
- label Midnight Rock 1983-84 (Love In The House riddim)
- label Hi Power 2001(Mama riddim)
- label Techniques 2002 (Just Friends riddim)...

Donc rien à voir avec le A Love I Can Feel... du coup la liste a été éditée !

D'ailleurs, article à faire sur celui-ci aussi, un grand classique !

c'est vérifié: upsetter dream vient de love me forever (carlton & the shoes)

Autre petite correction, "I Love my woman" de Tenor Saw est sur le "Love me forever" (la version avec la belle intro), pas sur le "A love I can feel".
